The happy couples

I went to a wedding on Sunday. It was quite lovely apart from one errant boob that kept creeping out of my dress. I wasn't alone, both of housemate Jen's were on display for the day. The couple had a traditional Jewish ceremony and then we promptly got to the reception and were greeted by shrimp, fish, and pork appetizers (I use the term appetizer because I don't know how to spell the more proper french term - hor de oevres?). Then the lead in the band played two trumpets at once. There are photos.

Congratulations Dave and Joanna!

Wendy's response to my "you've got cotton candy on your head!" was "sometimes you just need a little cotton candy on your head." that's our wendy.

it was shaped kind of like a hat, so it seemed logical to try to place it on my head. I got the naughty eye from the groom for doing it. luckily, it was gonna fall off anyway. we ate it all.

hey, if you're going to have hat-shaped cotton candy at your wedding, you can't go giving looks to people for putting it on their heads...

The wedding was at 2941 restaurant in Falls Church. The bride's brother is the head chef there. I happened to work there as a hostess for about 8 months last year, so it was fun to have all my old coworkers waiting on me... If you've never been, save up a little money and try it out - absolutely amazing food and ambience. Of course, I can no longer say that without also endorsing my very favorite Falls Church restaurant: Amasia Bistro! (the head chef at Amasia is a phenomenally talented woman I met while working at 2941)...

whenever I drive to Falls Church on a Sunday I like to say in my head: I'm going to church, but not the regular kind. This is FALLS Church. I fall a lot, so it fits me fine, except that it's in, you know, suburban virginia.
