WEEKEND ROUND-UP

LAST TRAIN HOME PUTS ON BENEFIT CONCERT FOR ALEJANDRO ESCOVEDO
Iota was once again filled yesterday afternoon in honor of Alejandro, who is suffering from a form of Hepatitus without health insurance.

EDWIN MCCAIN at the BIRCHMERE
I revisited my music management roots last night by taking in a show with Edwin, Craig, and Larry. Since it's been about a year, I was happy to update the Edwin gang on my new music management ventures, and got to tell them about Shane Hines and Last Train Home. Edwin looked great and informed me he's training for the Mardi Gras Marathon in February!
David Ryan Harris opened. This was my first chance to see DRH, and I was blown way by his voice, musician banter, and songwriting.

WAKING STATE AND VIKI NOVA
Although I was really excited to see this show at Sharpshooters out in Manassas on Friday night, my car's "rattling and humming" (wouldn't that be a good album title?) and desperate need for an oil change prevented me from going. Check out...Waking State and Viki Nova - I hear they put on a great show.
